From Amy's Creative Side, the Blogger's Quilt Festival quilt I'm showing is a Block of the Month from a local quilt shop. The pattern used was Nostalgia from Kaye England. The pattern uses block designs from the 30's & 40's. I used a star layout from the pattern for the quilt. The quilt is made from reproduction 30's fabrics. The only things I changed from the pattern were that a cake stand block was used instead of the Sun Bonnet Sue, and I added piano keys around the outer border. This pattern is great because you could make other quilts using just one block from the pattern.

what a fun sampler! I am hoping to try making a sampler next year. I love that piano key border too.
I love the little doggie!
very pretty! I have a scottie and that is on my long list of blocks/quilts to do!
I spotted your quilt in the lineup right away and knew I'd come over to visit. The little black doggie caught my eye. :) Thanks for stopping by my quilt entry and leaving a comment, too! I noticed that the larger blue border in your quilt and the blue border in mine are so similar. Might even be the same fabric! My layer cake was Hello Betty, but I bought the borders at our local quilt store in the remnant bin. I thought it seemed 1930ish. I love your quilt.
This is a wonderful quilt - I love the 1930s fabrics and the piano key border
Cute sampler! I like how it breaks outside the frame... lovely!
Your sampler quilt is a wonderful representation of 1930's style. It reminds me of my grandma. I like how you created a colorful border for the frame of your quilt.
Very pretty use of the 30's and 40's fabric.
It's a great quilt. I love 30s repros (they remind me of my mother and grandmother), but the Scotty dog has me!
Lovely quilt! The setting you used is especially wonderful. Thank you for sharing!
I love this - very very sweet, love the fabrics!

I really like how the blocks point out into the border - very cool set that way!!

I love the big star as a setting. Very unique. I'm going to have to try to remember that! Beautiful quilt overall, too.
I took a class from Kaye. She is amazing. Your quilt is lovely. I like the piano key border.
