Happy Halloween

I'm looking forward to Halloween. It's so much fun to see all the costumes.

I've been working on this quilt all week. The rows are done. Now the fun part, sewing it all together.

I signed up for a swap at Daisy Quilts and we will be swapping Christmas Ornaments. I have not participated in a swap for a while and I'm looking forward to it. It's fun to see what everyone creates. The swap will close at the end of the day on November 1st.

Finished Christmas Stocking

I finished my Christmas stocking for the Lincoln Quilter's Guild this morning. I used a bunny from the pattern, Rabbits Prefer Embroidery, by Bunny Hill Designs. I looked in my stash and found other pieces that would work with the redwork. I also hand quilted it with Finca Perle Cotton No 8 and Sulky 12 wt. cotton. I liked the Sulky cotton better, because it was not as heavy and easier to pull through the fabric and batting. I hope the owner will enjoy the stocking! I will post photos of all the stockings displayed after our next Guild meeting in November.

Beginnings of a Christmas Stocking

I've been working on a Christmas stocking for the Lincoln Quilter's Guild. The Guild collects the stocking made by the members at the November meeting and then we vote on our favorite stockings with dollars. The dollars are then used to purchase gifts to put in the stockings. The Guild also collects items for the stockings throughout the year. I'm embroidering a bunny from the pattern, Rabbits Prefer Embroidery, by Bunny Hill Designs. (In the future I'm going to make the quilt. I have collected all the fabrics.)

I received the Kreativ Blogger award from Shell at, Tales From the Raspberry Rabbits. Make sure to hop over to her blog. She has a great blog and also has two bunnies!!

Here are my 7 things about me:

When I win the lottery I'm going to live by the ocean. For now, I think wheat fields simulate an ocean when the wind blows through the field.

I was a cosmetologist for 17 years and I still have my Cosmetology license just in case I'm ever out of work.

My favorite color is blue, but I love all colors.

I admire artists. I wish I could make a living doing art.

My proudest moment is when I graduated from the University of Nebraska with a Business degree.

I am half Swedish and half German.

I have two bunnies and have learned a lot about them just by watching them interact.

I was in the band in high school and played the alto, tenor and baritone saxophone. I still get goose bumps when I hear a drum cadence and the music of the band when watching parades. My favorite half-time routine we preformed was a tribute to the Beatles. We sang Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band when we entered and exited the field. We also did the Charleston dance in the middle of the performance while playing our instruments. In all of the competitions that we performed this routine, we got a lot of cheers from the audience and the judges loved the singing marching band. :^)

Quilt Festival - Fall 2009

The quilt I am posting for Park City Girl Quilt Festival is a bed quilt we use on a king size bed.

This quilt has traditional Amish blocks and it's set in the garden maze. This was a block of the month from a favorite fabric shop of mine. The shop's name was Rick Rack Fabric Shop, but is now closed. The shop was a weekly stop of mine and one of the reasons why I like the quilt so much. The fabrics used in this quilt were Kaffe Fasset. The pattern is from Fabric Expressions. My sister, Kristine Predmore, machine quilted it for me. The back is pieced with various scraps with most of them being Kaffe Fasset.

Connie is Selected!

My sister Connie called me to tell me she was selected to be in the March/April issue of Women's Running magazine. I am so proud of her. Can't wait to see which photos they use and what they will say in the article.

The Cake & Flowers

I had to show a close up of the wedding cake, because it was so beautiful and a work of art! There were even pine cones made from chocolate. Love all the details and the engineering of the cake setup.

Thank you Nancy and Jeff for letting me take home a floral arrangement. I have been enjoying them.

Jeff's & Nancy's Wedding

Jeff's & Nancy's wedding party. I love this photo! The Missouri River is in the background. The wedding was beautiful!

Kate and Spencer enjoying the scenery before the service.

My cousin Ardith from Washington came to the wedding. So good to see her again!

Nancy and Jeff exchange vows. The service was really special.

The cake was so unique. I loved it! Jeff's an Iowa Hawkeye fan and Nancy ordered him a special groom's cake. Believe me the cake tasted as good as it looked.

Nancy and Jeff with my parents, brother and sisters.

Lastly, I had to show a photo of the garland in place.
